Sri Lanka

Many small temples such as this one can be found alongside the roads, where people may leave a coin and ask for protection.

It was during the Christmas holidays of 2004 that news reached us all of terrible destruction in Southeast Asia due to a series of devastating tsunamis. We felt paralyzed while following the reports on radio and television. Few weeks later our fellow doctors asked us, if we would help with our homeopathic remedies. Upon receiving a cry for help from our colleagues in Sri Lanka, we quickly organized a task group. Traveling was made possible thanks to generous donations of numerous colleagues.

Now in 2011 we no longer fly to Sri Lanka to gie treatment. Instead, our help today involves communication and moderation as foreign allies and friends. We hope to be providing creative advice to our colleagues for finding new paths and rethinking past structures. This applies to all homeopathic issues, the spectrum of medical aid offered to the population, the level of education of the homeopathic doctors and the supply of homeopathic medicines in the country. As a “side effect” new contacts are being made between our Tamil and Sinhalese friends and colleagues that may not as easily come about in absence of homeopathy as a common ground. We see this as our small but hopefully significant contribution towards peace and understanding in this beautiful country.
